An agent is an infrastructure that performs all CI/CD tasks. The agent can be hosted on the cloud. It can also work on a self-hosted agent.

An agent comes with installed agent software. The latter one holds install dependent software needed for builds and integration
Linux, macOS, or Windows devices or a Docker container can have an agent. An Agent has a system and user capabilities. System capabilities operate automatically but user capabilities need the user to define.
